Why WDW Today Is Ending After 1000 Episodes

Many people have bought into the rumor that WDW Today is ending after their 1000th episode.  The truth is it's not a rumor but a fact.  However, the members of WDW Today have not been honest about why they are ending the podcast.  In fact each member has their own reason for ending the show.  I know why.

Extensive research and hacking into each members personal computer has allowed me to bring you this ground breaking information.

Len Testa:  Len Testa is returning to his home planet where he is accepting a position with the Intergalactic Federation.  His primary job will be the spreading tequila throughout the universe.

Matt Hochberg:  Matt Hochberg will be focusing on his family.  His goal is to have at least 15 children in an effort to score a reality TV show.  It is unknown if his wife is on board with this plan or not.  If his wife decides against this plan Matt will just clone himself 14 times.

Mike Scopa:  Mike will be going back to crime fighting.  Instead of a cop he is going to become a vigilante super hero.  He will punish criminals by making them run until they pass out.  Then he will place them at Gospel Brunch in Disney World to teach them some morals.

Mike Newell:  Mike Newell is going back to the drawing board and will be working to make Mouse World Radio more addictive before the feds catch on and outlaw it. If they catch on he already has his house wired to explode but not until he and Mary escape in his home made hot air balloon.

Annette Owens:  Annette will be organizing her army and taking over a yet to be named third world country in South America.  Once she takes it over she will install herself as a ruthless dictator who makes everyone wear high heels.

Fred Hazelton:  Fred will pursue his life long goal of escaping Canada.

Deb Wills: Deb will be returning to her previous life (see How Does Deb Wills Do It).

A.J. From the Food Blog: AJ is planing on eating around the world.  This will most likely prove fatal as we have seen from Sip Snack and Sic.

Henry Work: As many people know Henry got a job at Disney.  What he doesn't know is that they are going to scan him, dispose of him, and create a new AI Animatronic.  No one will be able to tell the difference because most people confuse Henry for an animatronic anyways.

500 Posts: How Did This Happen?!?

How does this happen?  How does a blog this bad make it to 500 posts? I’m just stupefied.  I can’t believe I came up with this much stuff.

In the last 100 posts I did an in depth overview of my most recent (and possibly last) Carnival cruise vacation.  I explained the connection between the Beatles and Disney World.  I teased Len Testa and Lou Mongello again (like that shocked anyone). I caught Len Testa in his natural environment.  I started Park Wrecks.  I explained the connection between Disney World and resignation of Richard Nixion. I posted a bunch of videos photos. I also added some new dining reviews.

If you want me to stop too bad :P.  I've already had people complain.  I've also had people leave complaints about me emailing WDW Today too much.  I just want to clear something up.  I've only submitted one email in the last three months to WDW Today.  The problem is they are so backed up they are just catching up to emails I sent a year ago.

Ok so here they are - they last 100 posts:

Len Testa is Real

The Yeti, ghosts, the boogie man, and Len Testa.  All of these mythical creatures have existed in folklore and legend but there has never been any solid evidence of any of them until now.

Late on Saturday afternoon the ever elusive "Len Testa" was not just spotted but photographed in his natural environment.  Notice his distinct "t" marking that separates him from the other wild animals in back of Epcot.

In this rare photo we also see that the "Len Testa" has taken a woman hostage.  You can tell by the fear clearly written on her face that she is terrified and desperately wants to escape the clutches of this dangerous specimen.

It is believed that the L.T. was lured to the rear of Epcot by the myriad of smells from the Food and Wine Festival.  However, there is one smell that the L.T. appears to have been following.

When this photo was taken the L.T. was seen heading in the direction of Mexico.  As all L.T. hunters know it's favorite consumable, mass quantities of tequila, can be found there.

Be forewarned for the next few days you could run into a L.T. in any of the parks in Disney World.  The only safe zone will be on Sunday at the Hollywood Studios.  The L.T.s natural enemy, the rarely spotted "Matticakes Hochberg" is expected to be roaming that park.

Vegas Releases Odds For Next Unofficial Guide Cover

Because everyone knows you should be able to place a bet on anything Vegas released odds for the next Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2012.

Primeval Whirl - odds 2-1
After being the first crappy attraction to appear not once but twice on the cover Primeval Whirl is the front runner.

Mission Space - odds 5-1
Normally Mission Space would not be a front runner but the last two years have shown us that the crappier the ride the better the odds of getting on the cover.

Spaceship Earth at night - odds 7-1
The first attraction that would actually make sense.

Pioneer Hall - odds - 100-1
Some experts feel that the time has come for a non-park icon to be used on the cover.

An overweight person on a scooter - odds - 200-1
What better could representative could you find of modern day Disney?

The Tequila Bar in Mexico - odds 1-10
Insiders say that one of the Unofficial Co-authors will pull rank and put his favorite location on the cover.

Len Testa - odds - 10,000-1
Hey it might happen by accident some day.

CMDTA’s 1st Annual Disney Podcast Awards

I know there are some legitimate podcast awards out there.  Those are no fun.  I’m doing podcast awards my way.  You won’t find your normal categories on this list.  In fact no one else does a Disney Podcast Award (I think).

The “I thought they died” Award:

This one was tough.  Annette Owens took a big break from WDW Today.  Most years she’d walk away with this award except Van from Netcot only put out a couple episodes this year. Congrats Van! I thought you were dead!

Best Rant

In this category Pete Werner from the DIS Unplugged is nominated…about 15 times. So it’s Pete vs. Himself!  I guess that takes the suspense out of who wins but not for what!  Pete wins for his rant on the “Sick Show.” He was the only person on that episode and he still took the time to do a rant!  Now there is an example of going above and beyond.

Goofiest Guest

In terms of Disney – It’s good to be Goofy!  Out of all the countless guests, who was the goofiest?  The award goes to Tim “Bananas” Foster on the WDW Radio show.  What can you say?  The guy sounds like a dufus and he is a major deek.  Of course I mean that in a good way.

Award for the Podcast with the Most inside Jokes

The winner by a massive margin is WDW Today! When you have to check the wiki at least once in every podcast you know there are a lot of inside jokes.  Arrrgh MONGELLO!!!

Best New Personality Not on Their Own Show or Own Segment for that Matter

Congrats Princess Lisa!  It’s good to know someone is keeping Skipper Ben in line.

Award for the Most Insane Episode

You’d think WDW Today would win this one.  You would be wrong.  This goes to Inside the Magic for its year end review. It clocked in at over five hours. FIVE HOURS! Some people don’t sleep that long at night.

Podcaster Most Likely to be Caught Picking His Nose on a Ride

The first name that comes to mind is Lou Mongello.  However, Lou loves to eat and that’s just gross so this award goes to Len Testa!  Congrats Len!

Most Addicted Podcaster

Ricky Brigante for his Haunted Mansion addiction!  Don’t be surprised if he dies on this attraction while trying to set the consecutive ride record.

The Odd Couple Award

Who doesn’t love an odd combo?  Even the Disney Podcast Community has one.  Congrats Jim Hill and Nathan Rose from the Magical Definitions Podcast!

Most Likely to Die a Death Somehow Related to Van Halen While in a Disney Park

Do I even have to say this one?  Congrats Len Testa!

Most Likely to be Mistaken for the Yeti

Congrats Mike Scoppa!  Most people don’t know this but if you shave the Yeti you find he’s Mike Scoppa’s long lost brother.

400 Posts - Somone Must Have Lost a Bet by Now

Somehow I made it to 400 posts.  I think I’ll adopt the slogan “I succeed despite my best efforts.”

In the last 100 posts I rolled out a number of photos, videos, and accidently my two of my most popular posts ever.  I don’t know why or how it happened but someone running another Disney site that people actually visit linked to one of my posts about a new fake marathon.  Sadly most of the people hitting my blog had no idea what they were in for. No one complained but I’m guessing a lot of people were not pleased. The other post drew people because they thought it might be true.  COME ONE PEOPLE! Did you really think Disney was going to off Light Cycle rentals in it's parks?

Those people are the first group I’ll apologize to. If you’ve never read one of my round up posts, I don’t thank people anymore I apologize to them for mentioning them on the worst Disney blog on the net.

Here are the others I’d like to apologize to:

Mr. Potato Head – It wasn’t even a good photo but I posted it anyways.

The Power Rangers – Even though I really don’t like you I know I kicked you while you guys were down.

Father from the Carousel of Progress – You were the brunt of one of my meanest posts ever.

Anyone who works at any Disney Resort – I’m sure you don’t appreciate the fake nicknames.

Michael Eisner

People Who Like Mission Space

The Yeti

Kodak – I would have run for the hills too.

Donald Duck – I know your not an insane terrorist.

Len Testa – I must have made fun of you at some point in the last 100 posts.  If not I’m really losing my edge.

Lou Mongello – For stealing your idea for a restaurant.

Now without any further shenanigans here are the last 100 posts.  It might not look like it but all of the titles are linked to the posts.

Disney to Ban Ugly People from Its Parks During 2011

In a shocking move Disney has banned ugly people from its parks for 2011. In a press release that no one saw or read, Disney stated that their new promotion “Let the Memories Begin” was a little short sighted.

“We didn’t realize until it was too late the impact this promotion could have,” stated Disney spokes-animal King Louie.

He went on to explain “We told everyone that if they were in the parks there would be a chance their picture could be displayed where everyone could see it.  We forgot that there are some who fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.”

While testing the technology Disney discovered that unless they filtered the photos to remove some people, it actually drove people away.  They also discovered that they could influence the crowds by posting certain photos.

Here were the results they observed when posting certain photos:

The Cousin Mickey Doesn’t Talk About – People became physically ill and children started crying.  Some people fled the parks in terror.

Lou Mongello – People ate everything that wasn’t nailed down and loved everything.  In fact there was not one complaint about food while his photo was posted.

Len Testa – Everyone stopped waiting in line and started following different pre-printed plans. For some odd reason, tequila sales increased by 1,000,000% during this timeframe.

Mike Scopa – Everyone signed up for the next marathon and starting giving people with young children dirty looks.

Matt Hochberg – Dinosaur shut down due to lack of interest. Animal Kingdom posted a record low attendance and DHS had to shut the gates because it hit its capacity.

Van @ Netcot – Everyone started reciting their top seven favorite things in Disney World.

Jim Hill – Blu-Ray sales dropped and digital copy sales skyrocketed.

Nathan Rose – Blu-Ray sales skyrocketed and digital copy sales plummeted.

Pete Werner – People went on rants about random subjects.  Cast members were lauded for their hard work or lambasted for not caring.

Ricky Brigante – In one hour, guest relations received 100,000 requests for Alien Encounter to be brought back.  There were also a ton of requests for all Halloween celebrations to be made permanent.

If the ban remains in place a class action lawsuit can be expected.  Already a new group has been formed in response to the ban.  “Ugly People Outraged Over Prejudices” (UPOOP) has already collected over 20,000 signatures and is planning a large scale protest.

Only time will tell if the ban remains in effect.

I hope this goes without saying but this is a fake news story.  King Louie is not a Disney spokes-animal.  Orangutans can’t even talk.  None of the test results (except the CMDTA one) are true. Please do not try to join UPOOP.  It does not exist.

20 Signs You Might Be Obsessed

There is a fine line between being a fan and being dangerously obsessed with something. For example a fan buys their favorite band’s songs, maybe a t-shirt, and if you really like them you might go to a concert to see them live. The obsessed fan follows the band from city to city, stalks the band members, and has delusions of being in a relationship with one of the band members.

How do you know when you’ve gone from Disney fan to Disney obsessed? There are a few signs to look out for:

1 – You buy an annual pass but don’t live near Disney and won’t be visiting Disney to use it.

2 – You’ve spent most people’s annual income on pins.

3 – You bought one of the new princess inspired wedding gowns.

4 – You booked a wedding package at the Grand Floridian but don’t even have a boyfriend / girlfriend yet.

5 – You can name a majority of the furnishings in Mickey’s House at the former Toon Town Fair but can’t name ten in your own home.

6 – You’ve had your picture taken with more than thirty Disney characters.

7 – You have multiple Disney related tattoos.

8 – You wore your mouse ears in the shower.

9 – You listen to more than 10 Disney podcasts each week.

10 – You own every Disney movie in multiple formats.

11 – You’ve watched nothing but Disney related entertainment for more than 24 straight hours.

12 – You get violent and normally end up under arrest when a ride is closed or redesigned.

13 – You once tried to rip a characters costume off and yelled “You’re not doing it right!”

14 – You are physically attracted to a non-human Disney character.

15 – You think Lou Mongello is an amateur.

16 – You logged more hours in the parks than Len Testa last year.

17 – You’ve lost a job because of Disney.

18 – You won’t eat ice cream unless its chocolate covered, on a stick, and in the form of mouse ears.

19 – You have your own Dole Whip machine.

20 – You were put under suicide watch after the Adventures Club closed.

Lay Off the Google!

Have you ever Googled yourself? I think almost every internet user at one time or another has. It’s only natural to be interested to see if you pop up on the information super highway.

I truly believe that some people are obsessed with Googling themselves. That is something I have learned from this blog. As you may (or in a vast majority of the cases may not) know I have been know to write about people from time to time. Most of the time my stories poke fun at people but from time to time I have been known to compliment someone. Based on the feedback I have received I think I know who does and who does not Google themselves.

Here are the ones who do:

Lou Mongello: Ok I’m convinced that Lou is addicted to Googling his name and when he finds it, he lets you know.

Matt Hochberg: Matt Googles himself to a lesser degree than Lou but like Lou he lets you know when he finds it.

Len Testa: Not as much as the other two but I’ve written so many stories about Len finding one would be like shooting fish in a bucket.

Here are the ones who do not:

Annette Owens: If she did she would have found “Annette Owens: Butt-Kicker” and I’d not longer be among the living.

Mike Newell: I’ve accused Mike of being an evil genius. If he doesn’t respond to that I don’t think he’s Googling himself.

Mike Scopa: When one is accused of being an immortal cyborg, one tends to respond. I doubt Mr. Scopa Googles his name on a regular basis.

Then again, maybe the ones I’m saying do not Google actually do but found my blog to be so foolish they did not want other people knowing they read it. After all I’m convinced that if you read my entire blog your IQ will actually do gown by the time you are finished.

Yes, that seems more likely - everyone Googles themselves.
