Any animated feature that Disney released after Tangled was going to have a lot to live up to. Tangled was a great movie and Disney hadn't hit that mark in quite a while. With Frozen we get to find out if Tangled was a fluke or if Disney Animation is back on track.
About ten minutes before Frozen starts you get the feeling Disney Animation is back. How? Before Frozen is a Mickey Mouse short. This short is great! It's such a well done and creative cartoon that it will easily put a smile on your face. What they do in this short is just awesome. I'm not going to give anything away. I'm just going to say that it ends miles from where it starts.
Frozen is proof that Disney Animation is on the right track. It gives hope that Disney Animation is entering another golden age. First of all the movie looks amazing. The colors and design of the scenes are fantastic.
The story rivals Tangled. I'm not going to say it's better but it's different. Tangled reminded me of a Pixar film in the way it tugged at your heart. Tangled tugs a little but it's story has some aspects to it that make it a unique Disney film. The fact it ends up that way is almost shocking considering what happens only a few minutes into the movie. I won't tell you what happens but something happens that should make you cry but might make you laugh and say "Well, this is a definitely a Disney movie."
The ending of this movie is great because it does not take the normal "princess movie" path. This might have been a risk for Disney but it's a risk that pays out in spades.
You can't talk about this movie and not mention the music. Music often shows up in Disney films. Try and think of an animated feature that does not have at least one song in it? That's not an easy thing to do. The music in this film is different. In other films the music adds to the film but was optional in many ways. In Frozen many of the musical parts make it feel like you are watching a Broadway show instead of an animated movie. When the music hits it often relates major plot lines. This movie would be broken without the music.
Overall Frozen is an amazing movie and should find itself fitting in with many of the Disney classics. While this isn't going to make my top five Disney movies I could completely understand why this movie would make someones top five.

What Gets You Out of Bed?
One of the worst things about the late fall and winter is getting up when it's dark outside. Getting up is hard enough but when it still looks like nighttime outside it's that much harder.
One thing that helps is a good alram clock. I have an alarm clock that I can plug my iphone into and wake up to any song I want. I have a few of those tree hugging hippy tracks of nature sounds. Those are ok to wake up to but they are not as good as something else.
There is one track I set as my wake up song more often than anyone else. It seems like the perfect wake up track. It's not too loud or soft. It's soothing yet not enough to put you back to sleep.
What is my wake up track? Let me give you a few hints:
1 - It's from a former Disney World attraction.
2 - The attraction was located in Epcot.
3 - The attraction was located in Future World.
4 - The attraction was located in Future World East.
A true Deek has now arrived at two attractions. Here are a couple more hints.
5 - The attraction allowed you to choose your own ending.
6 - The attraction was replaced my Mission Space.
You have the attraction now but what track could it be?
7 - The track was played during one of the endings.
8 - It's not the ocean ending.
9 - It's not the desert ending.
A majority of the people reading this blog now know what track I wake up to. For those of you who never rode Horizons or who don't remember the endings - the track is "Space."
There are a number of Disney songs that are decent to wake up to. There are also some that are AWFUL but they will wake you up. For instance "There's a Great Big Beatiful Tomorrow" is just punishing to wake up to. The way it starts could wake someone out of a coma.

La Nouba – Is It Worth the Money?
La Nouba is an amazing show full of stunts, artistry, and music. Parts are funny, parts are creepy, and parts make your jaw drop. That all sounds great but, is it worth $90+ a ticket?
I’ll start by saying that I sat in the “Front and Center” section. That section is not worth the money. It is too close to the stage and too much happens behind you to really enjoy everything. It was really disappointing. Do not but those tickets. That’s odd too because those are the most expensive tickets in the house. If you sat in the second section back in the middle you would have perfect seats.
There are some odd parts of La Nouba. Some parts could scare a young child and other parts would bore them to death. For a kid La Nouba is not worth the ticket price.
The cheaper seats are well worth the money. It is an amazing show. That is worth seeing at least once. I don’t want to ruin the show but the bikers stand out. The other amazing scenes are the trampoline scene and the Asian Jugglers. If you’ve seen it you know what I am talking about.
The only real drawback of La Nouba is the volume. It is almost painfully loud. My ears rang for about two hours after the show. It really needs to be turned down a little.

Top Ten Disney Music
Everyone real Disney fan owns at least one Disney theme park music CD. Some people own a few. Some people even have multiple versions of the same song, one from before an overhaul and one after.
The key to the music is its tie to a memory. Chances are when you hear that track you can see yourself there. If you played a lot of the Disney music for someone that has never been to Disney Would they’d think it was trash or at least have a lesser reaction.
I thought it would be fun to come up with my top ten. Remember, this is my top ten. It’s not in order of historical importance or anything like that. No hate mail please (not that I’ve ever gotten an email from this blog).

That Music Is AWFUL…but I Love It
No matter where you go in Disney World you’ll hear music. In some cases it’s very obvious. In other cases you won’t even notice it. In all cases it adds to the overall experience.
Some of the music is sadistic. My wife knows this first hand. After riding the Carousal of Progress she had the theme song stuck in her head for the rest of our trip. She will always remember Disney when she hears that song. Arguably the most sadistic of all Disney songs is the theme to It’s a Small World. Even if avoid the ride the music finds a way into your ear. Once it’s there you just want shove a pencil in there to try and get it out. Banging your head against a wall doesn’t work.
There are some songs / music that can really bring you back to the parks when you hear it. For me it’s the music from Splash Mountain. The other one that really brings me back even though I don’t think it’s played at the parks anymore is the Epcot Entrance Medley. The background music from any of the parks can also do this. Sometimes I can’t remember ever hearing the music but it will bring me back. These cases really show the impact of music. Chances are you were not actively listening to that music but your brain was in the process of creating a memory with that music tied into it.
Everyone has a different song. It could be the Tree of Life music, the song from the American Adventure, O Canada or Pirates. In any case you know the power of music. If you don’t own any Disney CDs you get a fix at Mouse World Radio. If there is a song that you just have to have, you might be able to find it at http://www.parktunes.com/.
