Disney announced this week that they will start charging a surcharge for people they deem to be "husky." In an effort to increase profits.
"The airlines have been charging people for anything and everything for years and they have gotten away with it. They starting charging for bags claiming they needed cut down on weight because of fuel prices. We'll it takes more energy to move fat people around between the rides and monorails so we are going to charge a surcharge," stated head of Profit Development Department, Scrooge McDuck.
The new surcharges will applied to anyone who does not match the governments "ideal" height weight ratio which means 99.5% of all Americans will be subject to the new charges. The surcharge will be applied by the pound. The fee is expected to be $1.00 per pound an individual is over the ideal weight.
"You can expect huge revenue increases from this program. We've been raising ticket prices every year and every year the guests keep coming back. Our parks are like crack! Once we have you hooked you'll pay anything to get in. Until people show us by staying home we are going to keep raising prices!" explained head of Guest Abuse Ursala.
The new fat surcharge is expected to start yesterday and stay in effect until the cows come home.

The Hidden Pain of On Ride Photos
A lot of people take on-ride photos for granted. They know Disney is trying to make money but most people are ok with it because they enjoy checking out their photos after the ride. All you have to do is check out the crowd at the end of Splash Mountain to realize this. I've even seen some familes ride a ride multiple times to try and get a good or funny photo.
There is another group of people who walk by the on ride photo display as fast as they can. Sometimes they even turn their heads so they don't have to see them. For those people on ride photos can acctually be painful.
I have many photos of myself when I was kid and those photos continued through my early twenties. Recently I've avoided the camera like the plague. I started avoiding the camera in my mid twenties. I use to enjoy on-ride photos but now I can't stand to look at them.
To be blunt I'm a typical obese adult. People who are not obese don't understand why having your picture taken would bother you. The ones who think about it imagine that you just don't like the way you look and that's why you dont' want your picture taken. That's not really the case.
There are two things that cause obese people to avoid the camera. I should say there are two things they see in photos of themselves. When I see a picture of myself I often have the same thought "Do I really look that bad?" I only see the fat. The odd thing is when I look in the mirror I don't see the fat. I only really see it in photos. The second thing is the more sinister. It's something I believe most obese people experience. You ask yourself what happened. You remember what you use to look like before you gained the weight. It's hard to explain how that makes you feel.
The combination of those two items normally leads to a decision that non-obese people just don't understand. You don't want to remember. You want to remember the experience but you don't want anything that reminds you that you are fat. Just keep that in mind the next time you drag your overweight friend to check out the on-ride photo.

I’m Not Fat, I’m Big…Ah who am I Kidding…
There are many depressing signs that remind you that you’re steadily getting bigger and bigger. One by one the notches on your belt recede. Of course that’s not because you’re gaining weight it’s because your belt is shrinking. There is also the fact that you have to buy your pants in a bigger size. That’s not your fault though because they just make them smaller now. The number on the scale keeps going up. That must be because my scale is broken. I should really replace it. Then there is the fact that you have to buy bigger shirt sizes. Everyone knows that’s because it’s more comfortable, after all as you get older you’d rather be comfortable than fashionable.
Did you know Disney rebuilt some of their ride vehicles and made them smaller?
Splash Mountain is a good example. When I was 16 my friend and I use to like to sit in the front row of Splash Mountain. We knew that was the driest seat in the house. You might laugh and think we were nuts. We weren’t. The front row is the only row with enough space to duck! We used to duck down and all the water would fly over us and nail the people in the second row.
My guess is Disney discovered this and made some adjustments to the logs. I know this because on my last trip my wife and I got stuck in the front row. I thought “No problem! It’ll be just like old times!” Well when we descended the final shoot I discovered that that Disney shrank the logs on me! I couldn’t duck anymore. Thanks to those jerks I got soaked! Of course it had nothing to do with quarter keg that sits in my lap now.
I should sue Disney for not putting up a disclaimer that says they shrunk the logs! That would be the only reasonable thing to do. People need to be warned about these kinds of things. That reminds me; they shrunk the cars on Space Mountain too! I use to be able to get a bunch of clicks on the lap bar. Not only that I use to be able to move around. Not anymore. Once I pull the lap bar down there is no moving.
Another thing that annoys me – the turkey legs are smaller. When I was younger I couldn’t finish them. Now it’s a breeze. Couldn’t they have found a better way to increase their income?
